Act 5 - T-Mobile
A very nice reference production: http://www1.t-mobile.cz/web/en/home
Replatforming full front and CMS.
Formerly a tangle of PHP,. Net, various CMS and Portals.
Choice of Liferay in early 2008. In active production since early 2009.
- Front Liferay (5.1 EC)
- Alfresco CMS (requirements and workflows schedulling advanced) integrated
- Integration with Portlets via legacy (Selfcare assistance)
- Integrations via light Portlets with eCommerce (ATG)
- Autonomy search engine
- Deployments web + mobile (xhtml)
Numbers:
- 200 pages in Liferay / Alfresco
- Peaks at 3000 users / hour
- Large distributed infrastructure (Alteon / Apache) with two end clusters 2 bipro Intel Liferay servers (1 for web / in a DMZ for Intranets)
Benefits:
- Completely streamlined infrastructure of J2EE
- The business took on new tools to grips (CMS notament)
- Rapid development and marketing of new services
Applications vs Liferay:
- Very pleased with the platform
- Demands on the management side moving back-office
- Demands on the insulation of Portlets to avoid bringing down the system if one Portlet fails
Comment:
- A team that has demonstrated its ability to deliver quality in reduced budgets while management wanted to Owner
- Another example of Internet platform pooled for Liferay, we are no longer in the early adopter phase / single projects. There is now talk of shared platform of reference.
To be continued
