Act 3: Liferay Portal 5.3
Target: Community Edition Release in late 2009
Addressed four themes:
1 - Content & Knowledge Management:
- Significant improvements in the CMS (Content sharing / "diff" for all types of content / Improved tags ...)
- The workflow engine for managing content is now packaged (jBPM priority)
2 - Platform management: So there I was stuck, it smells the "mission critical system"
- Monitoring by Portlets with JMX
- Jasper & BIRT integration
- Advanced management of clusters with scripting
- Sharding (I know not) to care for active clusters listed DBMS
3 - Usability: I expect to see
- New presentation framework AlloyUI (metaframework YahooUI 3 + 3 + CSS HTML 5), which looks promising but will require to migrate components JQuery (who were not old)
- Creating pages in "one click" from templates (no need to create the content and then the portlet)
- Site Creation "one click" (to see)
4 - Integration & Extensibility
- Drools integration "out of the box"
- Improved client and server scripting
- Documentum / CMIS integration
- Sharepoint integration
- Atom publishing protocol
Nothing revolutionary, but a strong focus on the ability to address the key issues for large websites as well as side content management production monitoring.

Act 4: Marketplace
Liferay will be launching its marketplace (at AppStore) to galvanize Portlets developed by the community and provide a global market. Who will launch the Portlet Pacman?
-
Otherwise the usual spiel of a HanseMerkur - 2 of Insurance in Germany - http://www.hansemerkur.de/ - Liferay's sticking around but would like a quality staging for 200 active contributors.
2 webs releases a week. Hundreds of thousands of users.

Some sausages, a few beers and beautiful world of tomorrow: T-Mobile, Vodafone, ...
See you tomorrow
