Laying out your screens effortlessly!

Who never had to make a quick sketch (a Crob'Art as my favorite which recognize creative!) To explain how a user interface?

To get there, there are several solutions:

  1. The method "Accenture", where the quickdraw Powerpoint as the first aid kit of any communication operation. It is often an outcome, but after strenuous efforts, and particularly ...
  2. The method "Geek", which passes directly by Laying out an IDE for HTML or swing the desired screen. The advantage is that is theoretically closer to the result, however, losing any agility in the construction of the screen. Again, the productivity is lowered ...
  3. The method "Corner web", where everything is simpler, since only theoretically a beast of a pencil and notepad to launch. The counterpart is that it is better to be with a good stroke of a pen so that the model can be a minimum of communicating, even presentable ... A book so the designer, left the Ecole du Louvre!

I am one of those who are content with none of the above. This is why I am interested in a utility called Balsamiq Mockups . It happens very quickly (on the order of ten minutes!) To results like this:

If the version "Desktop" is not free, it remains affordable ($ 79). Moreover, there is a version of "On-line" that allows to get their hands on the tool and to consider whether the purchase is worth it or not.

Personally, it's a tool I regularly blessed!

  • Emmanuel Denoyelle

Excellent! I have tried the online version for now, but I feel I'll quickly become addicted to this great little tool!

  • Roman Lamerloque

    It looks really great.

Axure is used here. That's good, but it is expensive!

I like Balsamiq, because the result looks more rough. This is important because this allows users to really focus on information architecture, instead of megotter on details.

I also plan to use Grails for prototypes.

Thank you for the great blog!

    A tool I use is Wireframe Sketcher - http://wireframesketcher.com

I had the spec to a client and frankly I bought the license
$ 69 at the time I do not regret. The eval version does not detract as functions
a pop every 5 minutes just.

Increasingly integrated into eclipse, so good at all.
