The information is not yet officially published on the website of Liferay, but SVN is categorical: Liferay 5.2.0 was released on January 25! The site of Liferay is not yet up to date, probably to keep a little longer on the front page announcing the release of version Enterprise (5.1.3), there is less than 10 days.
Personally, I looked forward to this version, since the presentation made at Stuttgart at the Liferay European Symposium late last September, the new administration interface, much more friendly and bringing together all the concepts specific to Liferay (community organization , etc. ..).
What can we learn more about what's new in this version? Anecdotal things (such as inheritance structures CMS), others that will enable greater adaptivity to the context of the portal deployment (such as additional attributes on dynamic organizations and users), and as always in Liferay innovations in terms of portlets that I have not had time to dig (mail portlet completely rewritten, a component of knowledge management, etc. ..), all with an ongoing effort to maintain optimal performance (re-write management roles and permissions).
What is certain is that this version can be described as major as it progresses in terms of usability and functional coverage.
